How to Apply for OBC Scholarship

Process	Details
Phase 1: One-Time Registration (OTR)	From the 2024-25 session, students must complete a One-Time Registration (OTR) process via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Phase 2: Application Submission	After completing OTR, students will use the OTR ID to submit their applications for the OBC Scholarship.

One-Time Registration (OTR)

In the initial phase, students must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR), which is currently accessible on the portal. Upon successful registration, students will receive a unique OTR ID that allows them to apply for various scholarships. It is essential to note that each student is assigned only one OTR ID, which is generated specifically for them.

OTR Requirements:
Candidates need to have an active mobile number to complete the OTR process.

Aadhaar Requirement:
Aadhaar is essential for the One-Time Registration. If a student does not have an Aadhaar number, they can use their Enrollment ID (EID) instead. For minor students without an Aadhaar, the registration can be completed using the Aadhaar number of a parent or legal guardian.

eKYC Process:
Completing the eKYC process is mandatory for obtaining the NSP OTR. Students can use the NSP OTR app, which is available on the Google Play Store, to perform face authentication for eKYC.

Scholarship Application Form

Students who have successfully completed their One-Time Registration (OTR) ID can proceed to apply for various scholarship programs, including the OBC Scholarship. At this moment, the application process for any scholarship has not yet begun under the new guidelines. Consequently, our current understanding of the application procedure is limited. We will provide updates in this section with pertinent information once the official notification is released, as the application process has been revised for this year.

Selection Process for the OBC Scholarship

Eligible candidates from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) will receive scholarships based on the eligibility criteria outlined in Paragraph III of the official notification. Candidates who are residents of one state but studying in another will be granted scholarships by their home state and must apply through the appropriate authorities in that state. Additionally, for the purposes of fee exemptions or other concessions, these candidates will be considered as if they are enrolled in their home state.
